Textile Dye - Furniture Clinic FabriCoat - 500 ml
The FabriCoat textile dye from Furniture Clinic is designed to color all types of absorbent fabrics on furniture, carpets, car interiors, and more. The dye is water-based and does not contain any flammable substances. It can be applied with a sponge, cloth, or sprayed on with an airbrush or spray bottle. FabriCoat is available in the same color range as Furniture Clinic Colourant leather dyes, making it ideal for coloring or re-dyeing furniture and car interiors that have both textile and leather components. Note that the textile dye is less effective on synthetic fibers as it cannot penetrate them.
FabriCoat can also be used to create various patterns on textiles, such as with stencils or brushes.
Instructions:
- Clean the material to be dyed and ensure it is free of dust. For the best results, the textile to be dyed should be the same color or lighter than the color being applied. The material must also be absorbent; it is not possible to dye synthetic fibers made of plastic, as the dye cannot penetrate these fibers.
- Dilute the textile dye with 50% water or Penetration Solution to help the dye penetrate the textile fibers more easily. Apply the dye using a cloth, brush, spray bottle/airbrush, or by dipping the textiles in a container of dye. Each method will produce different results depending on what you are dyeing.
- Allow the textile dye to dry. You can speed up the drying process with a hairdryer. The dye will be dry to the touch after an hour, but it takes 72 hours to fully cure.
- Spray the dyed surface with Fabric Protector to create a highly durable finish that lasts.
