Vinyl & Leather Color | Viper Polycryl

Viper Polycryl is a vinyl and leather color based on a blend of polycarbonate and acrylic, making it extremely durable and resistant. At the same time, it is highly flexible and provides a soft, long-lasting finish with a natural feel. Viper Polycryl is suitable for use on all types of vinyl, faux leather, leather, and hard plastics.

Viper Polycryl gives a natural appearance to restored products made from leather, vinyl, faux leather, and plastic. The finish is permanent and does not transfer onto clothing or other materials that come into contact with the surface. It also does not wash off if it comes into contact with water, which is common in applications like boat interiors. The surface remains porous after coloring, allowing oils and creams to be absorbed during treatment.

To further enhance the finish, you can add 10% of the hardener SafeLink. This is especially recommended for surfaces that undergo extreme use.

Note: Vinyl, faux leather, and plastic are "oily" materials. For the color to adhere properly to these substrates, it is crucial to follow the instructions and clean and prepare the surface thoroughly with Vinyl Prep before coloring. Otherwise, there is a significant risk that the color may peel or flake off. Although leather does not have the same oily surface as vinyl/plastic, proper cleaning and prep are still important for this substrate as well. We recommend Viper’s coloring kits, which include everything needed for a high-quality and durable color application on leather, vinyl, and faux leather. These kits are suitable for touching up and recoloring boat interiors, furniture, car interiors, bags, and more, and are available in three different sizes.

How to proceed:

1. Clean the surface to be colored with Viper PolyClean.
2. Clean the surface 2-3 times with Viper Silicone Remover.
3. Clean the surface 2-3 times with Viper T-1 Vinyl Prep or Viper Leather Prep.
4. Apply the first and second layers of Polycryl Vinyl Color with a sponge, ensuring you reach into creases and corners.
5. Apply additional layers of color until the coverage is satisfactory. The color is elastic and will not crack, regardless of the number of layers applied. Dab the color in thin layers with a sponge and dry with a hairdryer between each layer.
6. Apply 2 layers of Viper TopCoat finish. Add the hardener SafeLink to the finish for extra durability.
