Here's how:
- Clean the leather thoroughly with Ultra Clean leather cleaner .
- Wipe the surface thoroughly with Leather Prep to remove old surface finish.
- Then wipe the leather with Alcohol Cleaner , which removes loose paint residue and old grease and wax. This allows the new leather dye to penetrate and bond to the leather, giving it a solid base.
-
Massage in a first layer of leather paint with a sponge . To get a smoother surface, you can spray on additional layers with an airbrush (although not necessary, you can apply several layers with a sponge). NOTE: The color will be a shade darker when dry.
-
The paint is then sealed with Leather Finish. Available in Gloss, Matt and Satin (which is neutral between matt and gloss). The finish protects the leather paint and provides a durable surface, as well as the desired shine. The leather paint itself is glossy.
-
For an extra durable surface in exposed areas, you can add hardener Cross Linker X to the surface finish.
