Our large leather colouring kit from Furniture Clinic includes everything needed to colour a large leather area, such as a full car interior, a three-seater sofa, or a complete set of seat cushions for kitchen chairs. Contents:
- 250 ml Leather Expert Leather Preparer
- 250 ml Leather Expert Alcohol Cleaner
- 250 ml Ultra Clean
- 250 ml Leather Colourant
- 250 ml Leather Finish
- Sponge
- Cloth
How to Proceed:
- Clean the Leather: First, thoroughly clean the leather with Ultra Clean leather cleaner.
- Remove Old Finish: If the leather has a finish, remove as much of it as possible with Leather Preparer (Note: Do not use Leather Preparer on aniline, semi-aniline, or other porous leathers without a finish).
- Prep the Leather: Wipe the leather with Alcohol Cleaner to remove loose colour residues, silicone, and old grease and wax. This allows the new leather colour to penetrate and adhere to the leather, providing a solid base.
- Apply Colour: Apply the first layer of leather colour using a sponge. For a smoother finish, additional layers can be sprayed on with an airbrush (though applying multiple layers with a sponge is also effective). Note that the colour will darken slightly as it dries.
- Seal the Work: Seal the work with Leather Finish (available in Gloss, Satin, and Matt). The finish provides a protective, durable surface and adds the desired sheen. The leather colour itself is glossy.
- For Extra Durability: For added durability in high-wear areas, you can add Cross Linker Eco to the finish.
Once completed, the surface will be so robust that it is difficult to scratch the leather.
