At Läderspecialisten you can now find paints that are specially developed for vinyl, artificial leather (imitation leather, faux leather, dear child has many names), and plastic. The paints come from American Viper Products, and are available in a large variety of shades.
Faux leather made from vinyl has a laminated plastic surface, and this surface is a bit “oily”, which means that regular paints easily peel and/or flake. Viper Products has developed a special vinyl prep that you treat the surface with before painting. This preparation ensures that the specially manufactured vinyl paint has a good grip and does not flake off. Adding a hardener to the top coat also gives you a surface that is water resistant, which is perfect for boat interiors that are usually covered in vinyl.
We have put together staining kits in different sizes that contain everything you need to make a beautiful and durable staining. The most important thing is to properly clean and prepare the surface to be stained with the included preparations. Then you can apply paint and top coat/finish with a sponge. The result is exceptionally durable!
The colors are very suitable for car upholstery, boat interiors, furniture and other items made of imitation leather.
